The Golden Circle

The Church’s senior adults, The Golden Circle, meet weekly on Tuesdays. We gather at the Church on the first and third Tuesdays at 10:30 for a covered dish luncheon and a program that has included during the past year: informative and inspirational speakers, professional entertainers with ties to the Church, musical groups from the community and even a demonstration of a Zumba class.

On the second Tuesday, we meet at 11 a.m. at an area restaurant for lunch. On the fourth Tuesday, we take one-day out-of-town trips. During the past year, we toured the Mayfield Ice Cream Factory,The Honda Manufacturing Plant and Barnsley Gardens and enjoyed Buttonwillow Church Confederate Dinner Theater and The Cumberland Playhouse. We were educated at the Antiquities Museum and the Booth Western Museum, inspired at WinShape Retreat and entertained at an IMAX movie. We also spent a shopping afternoon at The Riverchase Galleria. We always eat out on these trips at a special or unique restaurant. In 2011, we’ll travel to the Southern Museum of Flight, the Golden Flake Factory, The George Washington Museum, the Mercedes Manufacturing Plant and we’re going to shop at the new outlet centers in Leeds. We’ll develop other trips during the year and may even repeat some of our favorites.

On the fifth Tuesdays, we participate in some type of mission project.
