Rev. Marshall Henderson, Student Minister
Marshall Henderson is originally from Cleveland, MS, a small town in an area known as the Mississippi Delta, famous for agriculture and being the birthplace of the blues. He is a graduate of Delta State University where he spent four years as a “Fighting Okra” and received his B.A. in psychology. He is also a graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (NOBTS) with a M.Div. in Christian Thought (2011).
In 2008 Marshall married Jill-Curry Smith who was his best friends all throughout their school years. They now have 3 boys: Myles, Smith, and Roscoe.
During his sophomore year of college, God called Marshall to vocational gospel ministry. Pursuing this calling led has led Marshall to serving as a student pastor, a summer camp counselor, and an itinerant preacher. In 2010 while finishing his Master’s degree from NOBTS, Marshall and Jill-Curry moved back from New Orleans to their hometown in MS where he served as the Associate/Student Pastor at Morrison Chapel Baptist Church. In 2013 they returned back to New Orleans to partner with Vintage Church where he has served as a church ministry resident (2013), Discipleship Leader (2014), and Generations Director (2015).
Marshall is passionate about seeing the next generation follow Jesus and become tomorrow’s leaders.
Marshall considers himself to be an avid family man, coffee-drinker, and reader. He enjoys playing disc golf and Ultimate Frisbee, building things (amateur level), and watching sports in his free time.
