Dr. Roger Walworth, Music Minister
Dr. Roger Walworth, received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama. He received his Master of Church Music and his Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky. He has served on staff as Minister of Music at First Baptist Church, Fort Payne since May 2005.
Previously he served as Chair of the Fine and Performing Arts Division at Judson College from 1994-2006. He is active as a recitalist, clinician and adjudicator and loves community theater having played lead roles in numerous musicals and operas. He directed the Selma Community Chorus, Selma, Alabama, from 1997-2000. He has extensive experience as a music teacher in public and private schools and as a church musician. His choirs have toured extensively throughout the southern United States and 9 concert tours to the British Isles presenting concerts in such noted venues as Ely Cathedral, York Minster Cathedral, Coventry Cathedral, and Canterbury Cathedral. On February 22, 2005 his Judson choir sang a solo concert at Carnegie Hall, New York City, New York. This was their second time to perform at Carnegie Hall having presented their debut recital in 2003.
